Updated on December 13, 2016

Pakistan Village Life

Village life is very interesting and strange, especially for those who are living in crowded cities like me. Village calm and quiet environment, clean atmosphere, green fields and fresh water are rare commodities in busy city life. Pakistan vast majority of the population is living in villages with their own customs and traditions. From the plains of Pakistan largest province, Punjab to Mountains of Baluchistan we can see several different casts, colors and cultures, but all these people are a patriot and true Pakistani. They always love and like their soil and country.

Pakistan Village Life Simple and Honest

Pakistan Rural Life

Despite the growing trend of migration from villages to cities Pakistan seventy percent population is still living in the villages. Pakistan is an agriculture country and economy of the country largely base on agriculture. True reality is that villages are the backbone of Pakistani nation. Pakistan villagers are simple, honest and hard worker despite very few necessities of life and growing poverty they led simple and hard life.

Daily Life in Pakistani Village

During my recent visit to one Pakistani village I felt that despite poverty village people are enjoying their life. They wake up early in the morning their women are busy with house work and farmers start working in their fields most of them working long hours in their fields. Due to the hard work of these people we can see green and large fields everywhere in Pakistan. Despite using old means of agriculture result is very fine.

Pakistani farmers

Pakistan farmers only asset is their cattle's you can see healthy buffalos, cows and goats everywhere. Villagers brought up these animals with great love and affection. Every morning these healthy buffalos provides them fresh milk some for use and some for sale.

Inside Pakistani village

Most of the roads linked to inside villages are very dusty and narrow and travel is not very easy some time they walked long hours to reach their destination. In some villages medical facilities are very rare most of doctors don't want to work in villages and in case of any emergency villagers find it hard to save lives of their loved ones.

Pakistan Village Culture

Most of the village houses are mud built and the joint family system is very common in villages. Pakistan has world largest canal system for irrigation. Several rivers are playing vital role in country agriculture. The government has built several small canals to provide water to different villages and farmers.

Poverty in Pakistani villages

Now due to economic and energy crises and raising prices of daily commodities, poor people find it hard to provide daily necessities of life for their families. Several farmers have left their profession and migrating to cities for better future and work.

Problems in Pakistani Villages

Despite the simple and honest life of living in Pakistan villages, old customs and land disputes are also spoiling the life of Pakistani villagers. Lawlessness and Painful stories are also coming from some Pakistani villages where the government is not able to provide justice to ordinary people. Local justices committees called "Panchiyat" is responsible for solving miner dispute among local people. Mostly powerful feudal lords are using their influence to harm the interest of poor people.

Pakistan village residents have the rare opportunity of education as compared to big cities in Pakistan. Unfortunately the illiteracy rate is very high in Pakistani villages especially in girls. Majority of children left education because of poverty and other hardship of life. Standard of education is also not satisfactory in government schools.
